BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma
Course Introduction
BTEC Level 3 Diplomas delivered at Boldon School are designed to provide specialist work-related qualifications. They give students the knowledge, understanding and skills that they need to prepare them for employment and apprenticeship or to progress into higher education at College or University. The extended diploma is broadly equivalent to 3 A Levels.
This course is ideal if you are looking for a practical, challenging and career focussed alternative to A Levels. It is suitable for anyone who would like to progress to Higher Education with a view to a possible career in Art & Design.
Course Content
The course centres on a programme of assignments designed to put your skills to the test. Teaching is mainly through practical projects, small group work, lectures and private study. The assignments for all units must be completed to pass the course.

Entry Requirements
At least five GCSEs at grade A*-C or BTEC Level 2 in Art & Design. Students will continue to study English and maths if they have not achieved GCSE grade C or above.
