Careers Education

At Boldon School, we are developing a careers programme so all students are given the best possible CEIAG (Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance.) during their time at school. The school is fully committed to the government’s plan to ensure all students are given a world class careers programme that will enable each students to choose a career or pathway that is right for them. Students will learn about careers through our PSHE programme, work experience, visits to workplace and education providers and through various careers days within school.

The school is engaging with both the Local Enterprise Partnership and the Careers and Enterprise Company to develop a structured approach to careers education throughout all our year groups. The school will follow the Gatesby charitable foundations benchmarks, which have been identified by secondary schools as good practice. More information on the benchmarks and our 2018/19 programme can be accessed in the links below.

The school has also an enterprise adviser to assist with our careers programme. Our adviser is Jacqui Cairns, who is the Human resources manager for ailanthus hotels, who own the Boldon quality hotel. Jacqui has met with our key staff and is committed to assisting all students gain valuable and essential careers information at Boldon.
