Hairdressing

NVQ Level 2 | NVQ Level 3

Course introduction

Our NVQ hairdressing courses are run alongside our NVQ Beauty Therapy courses giving you the opportunity to gain qualifications and experience for your next steps, either into employment as a qualified hairdresser or progression to a higher education course at college or university.
At Boldon School we have a fully equipped hair salon where we welcome real clients from the public, or you may want to invite your friends and relatives.

During year 12 you will gain an insight into the hairdressing industry and practice the skills required to work in a hairdressing salon.

In year 13 you will further develop knowledge and skills whilst gaining professional expertise and supervisory skills.

There will be opportunities for you to attend international events such as Salon International, AHT Hairdressing Competitions and even a trip to Milan, in Italy.

All enrolled students receive a complimentary tunic and a welcome pack of “goodies” relevant to the course.
