Health & Social Care Key Stage 4

In health and social care, intent involves the understanding and application of human growth and development, how people deal with life events, health and social care services, as well as a practical demonstration of care values. The externally assessed unit builds upon this and allows students to interpret and assess an individual’s health and wellbeing.

Year 10 students will firstly focus on a coursework unit which is based on the development of a human from birth. This will be completed through the case study of a selected specific individual. Later in the year, students will focus on revising for their examination which will be completed in the summer. This will be based on health and wellbeing.

Year 11 students will complete their second coursework orientated around Health and Social Care Services and Care Values. Students will learn the importance of public support and evaluate the success of provisions.
