Curriculum

Our curriculum page is currently being upgraded and updated and will be live from June 2021. The new page will have all our curriculum content from each faculty and subject area for all year 7 – 11 students. Other curriculum plans which will be available to view include, Sex related education, personal and social education and our careers education programmes.

 

Options 2021-2022 (Current Yr 8)

We are trialling a new process this year for students to make their subject option choices using an online facility, which automatically links through to our SIMS system in school.  In order for this to be completed, students will first need to register with the SIMS system.  Invitations to students will be sent out to their school email addresses in the near future.

Year 8 students will have two option choices and they will also have to make a reserve choice using the SIMS online system.  Below are the options that will be available for students to choose from:

Due to current COVID restrictions we are unable to offer options assemblies in the same way we usually do to outline different subjects available to students but all faculties have provided detailed video explanations with clear course information.  These video links are shown below:

Year 9 students will have to choose to follow Digital IT or Reglious Education.  Year 9 students will also have to choose Geography or History.

It is also important to remember that students are not guaranteed their option choices as they depend on class size and staffing availability.

Year 9 students will complete a transition year meaning that students will pick from a varied range of options in Year 8.
