Our vision at Boldon School is to create a safe environment where students build resilience and thrive.  Our students are encouraged to be motivated and aspirational in their learning, embedding strong values into their culture, whilst being respectful and tolerant.  We strive for the highest standards when supporting our students’ emotional and social wellbeing. By creating a welcoming environment, our students are inspired to become the best versions of themselves; this, ultimately, leads to improved standards of academic achievement, behaviour and social mobility.

  • We want students to understand that independent learning is a vital part of academic success. At Boldon School we want students to know more, understand more and remember more and studying outside the classroom is vital to this. We also have evidence-based practice at the heart of our teaching and learning and have used this to ensure an effective independent learning policy.
  • We are also aware that pupils have opportunities and experiences outside of school that are equally important in developing and enriching their lives. We will give careful consideration to ensuring homework is well-balanced across the school.
  • Homework and independent learning at Boldon School is part of our Study to Succeed programme. This programme includes homework, revision tasks for exams, exam skills and information events for parents.
  • Homework at Boldon School is part of the Study to Succeed programme. Students will be given homework that will help them know more, remember more and understand more.
