Assessment at Boldon School supports the teaching of the curriculum and facilitates students to embed their knowledge, skills and understanding within each subject area. In Years 7 – 9, data is collected twice throughout the year and is based on holistic work produced throughout curriculum delivery. In Year 10, students begin to prepare for formal examinations and will access assessments most appropriate to each subject area across two data collection points. Year 11 students are well prepared for formal examinations throughout KS4 with the facilitation of mock exams and a further two assessment opportunities. Parents/carers receive reports twice throughout each academic year, providing information on achievement and progress, attitude towards learning and homework. There is also the opportunity to meet with individual class teachers during Parents’ Evenings.
