Our curriculum is both child-centred and outcomes focused. It is underpinned by our key priorities of: innovate, focus, achieve. We strive to innovate our students with a high-quality, knowledge-rich curriculum that is both engaging and ambitious, with a firm focus on high expectations, whereby our students can thrive, achieve the best possible outcomes, and be well-prepared for adult life.

  • Our inclusive curriculum is designed to meet the needs of all students; it is coherently planned and sequenced to deepen students’ understanding of key concepts, through the interleaving and revisiting of intrinsic knowledge. Over time, teaching supports students to know more, understand more and remember more.
  • Our curriculum’s intention is to develop our students’ personal qualities, by strengthening our fundamental values of: resilience, aspiration, integrity, self-discovery and empathy, allowing for greater confidence, independence and self-awareness overtime.
  • We strive to promote personal development opportunities; these are planned to enrich and broaden our students’ experiences, instilling key skills and understanding which will not only create excellent life opportunities but will also prepare them for life beyond Boldon, in a culturally diverse and modern society.
