At Boldon School we are incredibly proud of the pastoral support we offer our students. Our effective pastoral programme is complimented by the strength and experience of our pastoral team.

Within year teams we have a key stage coordinator, year lead and a team of tutors. In order to strengthen the work we do with our students, we also offer a learning mentor programme and our Inclusion Centre operates with a similar calm approach, for children to be supported with behaviours.

The school behaviour policy is also found on the website and must be adhered to at all times, in and around school. This policy is essential to a constructive learning environment and helps develop positive relationships in classrooms.

We strive to provide a happy working environment in which every student is valued as an individual. We aim to give the care, support and help which will enable every child to make the most of his or her academic potential and develop as a well-rounded individual. Monitoring student’s progress across the curriculum is therefore part of the pastoral work in key stage 3 and 4.

Parents are kept closely involved in any developments concerning their child and may feel free to contact pastoral staff at any time. The pastoral system recognised the importance of parents and teachers working together so that each child can derive the maximum benefit from their time here at Boldon.
