French Key Stage 3

In Key Stage 3 students will practise the 4 skills, speaking, reading, listening and writing. Students will start learning about using the present tense in French and using key words to be able to communicate in the foreign language early on. We will start with describing things and people, say what people have, do and where they go. In Year 7 we will also start asking questions and expressing future intentions. In Year 8, we will first focus on the past tense and sharing experiences and talking about what we did. We will then learn about school and food as well as talking about the environment. In Year 9, the focus will be on family and technology in the first half-term followed by what we do in our free time as well as discovering what French people do over the festive season. In the spring term, we will first learn about food, sport and describing our house and town. Then we will discuss environmental and social issues. For the summer term we will describe what we learn at school and what we do on holidays.
