What support is available if I’m struggling with a particular subject?

At Boldon School, we offer a range of support to help you succeed in every subject. You can attend our homework clubs for additional help or arrange one-on-one sessions with your teachers during dedicated support hours. We also provide access to online resources, including subject-specific tutorials and revision tools through Google Classroom and other platforms.

You can access all of our online learning tools and resources through Google Classroom and the school’s student portal. Here, you’ll find assignments, notes, and other helpful materials for your subjects. If you need help logging in or accessing any resources, our IT support team is available to assist you.

Yes, Boldon School offers a number of quiet study zones to help you focus. Our library is open before, during, and after school hours for independent study, and we have designated classrooms that are available for group work and revision sessions. We encourage all students to make use of these spaces, especially during exam periods.

How can I get advice on what to do after I finish school?

At Boldon School, we have a dedicated careers advisor available to guide you through your options after school. Whether you’re considering college, apprenticeships, or entering the workforce, you can book one-on-one appointments to discuss your interests and goals. We also organize career workshops and events throughout the year to help you explore different career paths and meet professionals in various industries.

Work experience opportunities are typically available for students in Year 10 and above. The school’s careers team works closely with local businesses and organizations to arrange placements that match your interests. To get involved, you can speak to your form tutor or the careers advisor, who will guide you through the application process and help find a suitable placement.

We offer extensive support for students applying to college or university. This includes help with filling out applications, writing personal statements, and preparing for interviews. We also organize visits to local colleges and universities to give you a first-hand look at your post-16 options.
